China's OLED panel combined monthly production capacity surged by 300%.

  According to a report by BusinessKorea on the 29th, Samsung Display has formulated an investment plan, hoping to expand the monthly production capacity of sixth-generation small and medium-sized OLED panels to 30,000 units. LG Display also plans to increase the monthly production capacity of sixth-generation OLED panels to 30,000 units.

  Meanwhile, Chinese manufacturers such as BOE, Tianma, and Visionox are scheduled to raise their combined monthly production capacity to 137,000 units this year, which is about a 300% increase compared to last year. Among them, BOE's B7 plant in Chengdu will increase its monthly production capacity from 16,000 units last year to 32,000 units this year, and Visionox will also expand its capacity by 30,000 units. Huaxing Optoelectronics and Hehui Optoelectronics will also expand their capacity by 15,000 units this year.

  OLED panels are expected to remain in short supply until 2020, and the investment competition between China and South Korea is expected to continue for several more years.
